Quick Answer: Hurghada for Polish Tourists

Hurghada for Polish Tourists offers a sunny Red Sea holiday with beaches, all-inclusive resorts, snorkeling, diving, island excursions and desert adventures. Polish citizens travelling to Egypt for tourism generally need a valid passport and an appropriate Egyptian tourist visa. The official Egyptian e-Visa requirements specify at least six months of passport validity from arrival.

Polish passport holders are eligible to apply for an Egyptian e-Visa. Eligible travellers may also use the visa-on-arrival process under current Egyptian rules. The official e-Visa portal advises applying at least seven days before departure.

For a smooth holiday, arrange travel insurance, check airport transfers, prepare access to Egyptian pounds, respect local customs and book excursions with reputable providers.

Important: A Polish national identity card (dowód osobisty) does not replace the passport required for ordinary tourist entry into Egypt. Do not confuse Polish entry rules with special arrangements available to certain other nationalities.

Hurghada for Polish Tourists: The Complete Travel Guide

Planning Hurghada for Polish Tourists means more than selecting a beachfront hotel. Understanding Egyptian visa rules, local transport, payment methods, tipping, weather and excursion options can help you avoid common travel problems and enjoy your holiday from the moment you arrive.

Hurghada is one of Egypt’s best-known Red Sea destinations. Its appeal includes warm weather, coral reefs, beautiful beaches, international resorts and opportunities to explore Egyptian history and culture.

For Polish holidaymakers, Hurghada can be particularly attractive during the colder months. While Poland experiences short winter days and low temperatures, the Red Sea coast generally offers milder conditions and opportunities for outdoor activities.

However, first-time visitors often have practical questions. Can you use Polish złoty in Egypt? Is it better to bring euros? Which area is best for families? Is tap water safe to drink? Should you book island trips through your hotel or online?

This guide covers those questions with practical advice for couples, families, solo travellers and groups of friends. It also explains how to choose suitable excursions and avoid unnecessary holiday expenses.

Hurghada Airport Arrival Guide for Polish Tourists

Many Polish holidaymakers arrive at Hurghada International Airport on direct or charter flights. Others connect through another airport or arrange their holidays independently.

After landing, follow official airport directions and complete the applicable immigration, baggage and customs procedures.

Proceed toward the official visa and immigration areas after leaving the aircraft.

2. Complete Visa Formalities

If using visa on arrival, follow the current official airport procedure.

4. Collect Your Luggage

Follow baggage collection signs and confirm that all bags have arrived.

5. Find Your Transfer

Meet your tour operator representative, hotel driver or prearranged transfer service.

6. Confirm Your Hotel

Make sure your driver has the correct hotel name and resort location.

Are Airport Transfers Included in Polish Package Holidays?

Many package holidays include a shared airport transfer, but this depends on your booking. Review your travel documents to confirm whether transportation is included.

Private Transfer or Shared Coach?

A shared coach can be convenient but may stop at several hotels. A private transfer can be more direct, especially for families, groups and visitors arriving late at night.

Explore our Hurghada Private Transfers guide for more information.

Best Time to Visit Hurghada From Poland

One of the biggest attractions of Hurghada for Polish Tourists is the opportunity to enjoy Red Sea sunshine when Poland experiences much colder weather.

Hurghada has a dry desert climate, with very hot summers, generally mild winters and significant sunshine throughout much of the year. However, wind and evening temperatures can influence comfort.

SeasonTypical ConditionsBest For
December–FebruaryMild days, cooler evenings, possible windWinter sunshine and sightseeing
March–MayIncreasing warmth and pleasant outdoor conditionsBeach holidays and excursions
June–AugustVery hot days and strong sunshineResort holidays for heat-tolerant visitors
September–NovemberWarm weather and favourable sea conditionsSwimming, snorkeling and diving

Is Hurghada Good for a Polish Winter Holiday?

Should You Choose a Hotel With a Heated Pool?

If you are travelling during winter and plan to spend considerable time swimming, a heated pool may be an important hotel feature. Confirm which pools are heated and whether heating operates during your travel dates.

Is Summer Too Hot?

Summer temperatures can be intense, particularly for travellers unfamiliar with desert climates. Stay hydrated, use sunscreen, seek shade and schedule outdoor activities thoughtfully.

Hurghada for Polish Tourists: Currency, Złoty and Payment Tips

Money management is an important part of planning Hurghada for Polish Tourists. Egypt’s local currency is the Egyptian pound, abbreviated EGP.

Can You Pay With Polish Złoty in Hurghada?

Do not rely on Polish złoty being accepted by local businesses. Egyptian pounds are the standard local currency. Some tourism providers may quote prices in euros or other currencies, but you should always confirm the final amount and accepted payment method.

Should You Bring Euros or Egyptian Pounds?

Egyptian pounds are useful for taxis, small purchases, local shops and tips. Euros may be convenient for certain tourism-related transactions, but they are not a substitute for local currency.

Are Bank Cards Accepted?

Many established hotels, restaurants and larger businesses accept international payment cards. However, smaller shops and transport providers may prefer cash.

Should You Use an ATM in Hurghada?

ATMs can provide access to local currency. Check your bank’s foreign withdrawal fees and exchange rates. If an ATM offers conversion into your home currency, compare the rate carefully before accepting.

How Much Cash Should You Carry?

Carry enough for normal daily spending without keeping unnecessarily large amounts of cash on you. A backup payment method is useful in case a card is declined or an ATM is unavailable.

Money tip: Confirm prices and currencies before buying excursions, souvenirs or transport services. Keep small Egyptian pound notes for everyday transactions.

Where Should Polish Tourists Stay in Hurghada?

Choosing the right location can shape your holiday. Hurghada’s accommodation is spread across city neighbourhoods, beachfront areas and separate resort developments.

Central Hurghada

Suitable for visitors who want access to shops, restaurants, local services and a more active urban atmosphere.

El Mamsha Promenade

Attractive for travellers who enjoy walking areas, cafes and tourist-oriented surroundings.

El Gouna

A separate resort town north of Hurghada with marinas, lagoons, restaurants and a planned resort environment.

Makadi Bay and Sahl Hasheesh

Popular with visitors seeking resort-focused accommodation, beaches and a quieter setting.

Which Area Is Best for Polish Families?

Families may prefer hotels with suitable pools, children’s activities, convenient dining and beach access. Check current facilities rather than relying exclusively on promotional photographs.

Which Area Is Best for Couples?

Couples may enjoy quieter beachfront resorts, private excursions or areas with restaurants and evening walking opportunities.

Should You Choose an All-Inclusive Hotel?

All-inclusive accommodation can simplify budgeting and meals, particularly for families. However, visitors interested in local restaurants and independent exploration may prefer a more flexible arrangement.

Compare hotel location, recent reviews, beach conditions and transfer arrangements before booking.

Where to Stay in Hurghada →

Is Hurghada Safe for Polish Tourists?

Hurghada is an established tourism destination, but visitors should follow normal travel precautions and consult current official safety advice.

Regional conditions and travel recommendations can change. Check the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs’ Egypt information before departure and follow local authorities’ instructions.

How Can Polish Tourists Stay Safe?

  • Use reputable transport and excursion providers.
  • Confirm prices before purchasing services.
  • Keep passports and valuables secure.
  • Use hotel safes where appropriate.
  • Avoid sharing sensitive financial information.
  • Follow beach and boat safety instructions.
  • Check current travel advice before long-distance excursions.
  • Keep emergency contact details accessible.

How Should You Deal With Persistent Sellers?

In busy shopping areas, visitors may encounter persistent sales approaches. A polite but firm refusal is often more effective than entering a lengthy negotiation when you are not interested.

Is Booking Excursions Online Safe?

Online booking can be convenient when you choose a reputable provider. Review what is included, pickup arrangements, cancellation conditions, safety equipment and the identity of the operator.

For additional advice, visit Is Hurghada Safe?.

Local Customs, Tipping and Etiquette for Polish Visitors

Understanding local customs can help Polish visitors enjoy more comfortable and respectful interactions in Hurghada.

What Should You Wear?

Swimwear is generally suitable at hotel pools and beaches. More modest clothing is appropriate when visiting residential neighbourhoods, traditional markets or religious sites.

Is Tipping Mandatory in Hurghada?

Tipping, commonly called baksheesh, is part of many tourism and service interactions. However, not every interaction requires a tip, and visitors should not feel pressured to pay arbitrary amounts.

Should You Bargain in Markets?

Bargaining is common in some markets and souvenir shops, but not every business negotiates prices. Ask clearly, compare options and remain respectful.

Can You Photograph Local People?

Ask permission before photographing individuals, particularly children. Respect restrictions concerning security facilities and other sensitive locations.

Popular dishes include koshari, grilled meats, seafood, taameya, Egyptian bread and a variety of rice and vegetable dishes. Choose establishments with appropriate food hygiene practices.

How Can You Avoid Dehydration?

Drink water regularly, especially during summer, desert excursions and boat trips. Wear a hat, use sunscreen and take breaks in shaded areas.

Should You Buy Travel Insurance?

Comprehensive travel insurance is strongly recommended. Review medical treatment, repatriation, cancellation and activity coverage, particularly if you plan to dive or participate in adventure sports.

Can You Bring Prescription Medicines?

Some medicines may be restricted in Egypt. Keep necessary medication in original packaging and check official rules for controlled substances or documentation requirements.

Health reminder: Vaccination and health-certificate requirements can depend on your itinerary and recent travel history. Seek personalised medical advice before departure.

Hurghada for Polish Tourists Travelling With Children

Hurghada for Polish Tourists can be an enjoyable family destination when accommodation and activities are selected with children’s needs in mind.

Do Polish Children Need Their Own Passports?

Each child should have an appropriate valid passport and meet the applicable Egyptian visa requirements. Check documents individually, including for infants.

What if Only One Parent Is Travelling?

Depending on the circumstances, documentation relating to parental consent or custody may be relevant. Check official guidance and airline requirements before departure.

Are Boat Trips Suitable for Children?

Some island excursions are suitable for families, but suitability depends on the child’s age, swimming ability, weather conditions and the operator’s safety arrangements.

What Should Families Pack?

  • Passports and visa documents for all travellers.
  • Travel insurance and emergency contact information.
  • Sun protection, hats and suitable swimwear.
  • Necessary medication and child-care supplies.
  • Light clothing and a layer for cooler evenings.
  • Water and snacks for transfers or longer journeys.

Getting Around Hurghada: Transport Tips for Polish Tourists

Hurghada offers hotel transfers, taxis, private drivers and locally operated minibuses. The best choice depends on your destination, budget and comfort level.

Are Taxis Easy to Find?

Taxis operate throughout Hurghada. Confirm the fare or payment arrangement before beginning your journey to avoid misunderstandings.

Are Local Minibuses Suitable for Visitors?

Local minibuses are used for everyday transport, but routes and payment arrangements may be unfamiliar to first-time visitors. They may not be convenient for families carrying luggage.

Should You Rent a Car?

Driving conditions can differ significantly from Poland. Check licensing, insurance and rental requirements carefully before deciding to drive.

Is Hurghada Walkable?

Some promenades and hotel surroundings are suitable for walking. Elsewhere, long distances, heat, uneven pavements and busy roads can make walking less convenient.

If I could give 10 stars, I would in a heartbeat! I've booked trips and excursions in many countries, but I've rarely experienced such a high level of professionalism, honesty, and warmth. From the initial contact to the end of our vacation in Hurghada, we received impeccable service. No matter the time of day—morning, afternoon, or late at night—the team was always available, responded immediately, and took care of every little detail. You can tell from the very first moment that guest satisfaction is their top priority. Every single excursion was superbly organized. The ride in the luxury limousine, the transfers, the breathtaking yacht trip to the paradisiacal islands, and our unforgettable day trip to Cairo and the Pyramids of Giza were all perfectly planned. This allowed us to completely relax and enjoy our vacation. I was particularly touched by the surprise for my son's birthday. Such thoughtful gestures can't be bought. They demonstrate the heart, attention, and passion this team puts into their work. It's moments like these that transform a wonderful vacation into a memory for a lifetime. What impressed me most was the honesty, reliability, and transparency. No empty promises were made; every commitment was honored. Unfortunately, that's not always the case these days. A huge thank you to the entire team! You made our family vacation truly special. I will recommend you to anyone who wants to discover Hurghada, the Red Sea, the paradise islands, or Cairo. For me, you're not just worth five stars, but at least ten. Thank you so much for everything. We will definitely be back!

I was very well taken care of by Discover hurghada. Great communication from Ibrahim. Friendly and attentive service throughout from all. I booked a horse riding tour and I was happy with the condition of the horses as well as the expertise of the guide Said who came with me. I felt very safe throughout as a solo female. Mahmoud the driver was very reassuring and friendly. Hany the stable owner kindly gave me a tour of the horses as I wanted reassurance about their wellbeing. The horses are different breeds and are well taken care of.
